| Where? Upstairs in the Parish Hall - after 15 minutes in the 9.30 service When? 9.30 every Sunday in term time (except when there is a family service). After 15 minutes in church, they they leave, with their leaders, by the door behind the organ Who? About 15 children aged between 5 and 7. It is led by Steve and Alison Mawer, with help from two adult group leaders, and 4 teenage helpers. (All leaders and helpers are police checked.) How? If you would like to include your child, you can fill in the form (click here), or you can phone the office, or catch one of the leaders in church. What? After a story and some singing, they go into small groups for discussion, followed by crafts and colouring. The parents collect them and their leaflets from the hall at the end of the service. Recent topics include:God's desire for us to care for each other: the friendship between David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 20) and how David showed God's compassion towards Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth (2 Samuel 9). The Climbers also focus on caring for those not known to us. They spend the weeks leading to Christmas thinking about child victims of poverty. Along with people all over the UK, they donate presents for Operation Christmas Child. Last year, Climbers' donations filled 5 shoeboxes, each of which eventually found it ways to a child in Eastern Europe. |
