CYFA details
A quick guide to CYFACYFA aims to create a welcoming and friendly place where young people can hear the gospel, explore questions of faith and support each on the journey with Jesus. CYFA is a group for 15 to 19 year olds. There are currently around 30 members on the books and around 20 attend Sunday night meetings, held in the lounge between 8.15pm and 10pm. A typical Sunday eveningAfter the evening service, the members get together in the lounge or the Orchard Room, for singing, prayer, Bible teaching or studying and a social time of chat, drinks and biscuits. CYFA members also meet mid-week at peer-led Cell groups to pray, share and study the Bible together. TeachingThe CYFA teaching programme is developed by the leadership team, using prepared resources and original material. We also invite guest speakers in at least once a term. The programme has included the Christianity Explored course (by Tico Rice), a series on Parables and a series on Guidance. During the same period, the Cell groups studied Malachi, Ecclesiastes, Superheros (a series of studies using popular cultural icons as a way into to exploring Bible characters) and Jonah.
